A Leadership Opportunity
Pou Matua | Group Chief Executive
Mō tātou, ā, mō ngā uri whakatipu.
Reporting to the Board, the Pou Matua will provide strategic leadership across the Tū Ātea Group.
You will lead a growing portfolio of businesses and investments, strengthen relationships with iwi, government and industry partners, and identify new opportunities for growth and influence.
While Tū Ātea operates in the telecommunications and technology sectors, this role is first and foremost about leadership. We are seeking an experienced chief executive who can bring people together, build trusted relationships, drive commercial performance and guide the organisation through its next phase of growth.
Success in this role will come from your ability to lead across three strategic pou:
Commercial, Impact and Policy.
You will ensure Tū Ātea remains commercially strong, influential in shaping the future of Māori participation in telecommunications and technology, and focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve.

You will lead a growing portfolio of businesses and investments operating across telecommunications, infrastructure and technology.
You will build on strong foundations, identify new opportunities for growth and ensure Tū Ātea remains at the forefront of conversations shaping the future of connectivity, spectrum and innovation in Aotearoa.
You will work alongside iwi, government, industry and community partners to deliver outcomes that create both commercial value and enduring impact.
About you.
You will be an accomplished executive with a proven record of leading complex organisations through growth, change and transformation.
You will bring:
• Strong commercial and business leadership experience
• The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with iwi, government, regulators and key stakeholders
• Experience working effectively with Boards and governance groups
• A track record of leading high-performing teams and creating a positive organisational culture
• Strong strategic thinking and sound judgement
• A deep understanding of Te Ao Māori and the ability to operate confidently across cultural, commercial and political environments
• The credibility, integrity and leadership required to lead an organisation of national significance
Technical expertise in telecommunications is not essential. What matters is your ability to lead people, build relationships, identify opportunities and deliver results.
